THE BOOKS

We decided to include a book in a few of our gift selections to make the gift even more special.

The Good Granny Guide by Jane Fernley-Whittingstall is an excellent book - funny, amusing and with lots of practical advice - without being patronising.

Attract Wildlife by Richard Jones. This book gives clear and practical advice on how to create and maintain a wildlife haven in your back garden, and how to enjoy it through the changing seasons. Attract Wildlife is endorsed by the HDRA and the Soil Association, so you know you can trust all the organic advice it contains.

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram. A beautiful book loved by parents and children.

THE PACKAGING

Those of us who care about the environment and are concerned about the future of our planet are dismayed, on a daily basis, by the excessive use of packaging and the limited use there is of recycled packaging materials. We, at Fayre’s Fair, have put time and thought into ensuring that the packaging fits into our company ethos.

We use gift bags made from handmade paper and imported from India by Ian Snow a company with 29 years experience of Fair Trade. We are sure that you will want to use these beautiful bags again. The coloured tissue paper is made in Southern India and imported by Banyan Tree Crafts, a Fair Trade company set up in 2001and recommended by the British Association of Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS). The grey tissue paper is recycled and comes from Green Stationery Company in Bath.

We use boxes [for posting] which are 75% recycled and totally recyclable. They are made by a small company local to us in North Shropshire. The padded envelopes we use for smaller, lighter gifts are obviously recyclable.

The tape round the box is polypropylene not PVC and comes from the Green Stationery Company [as above].

The card used for your personalised message is also from the Green Stationery Company in Bath.
